[Gonggam Newspaper] Reporter Choi Seon-eun = Arirang Dowon, a bakery space operated by F&B content company Stayday 1, announced that it has recorded 1,000,000 cumulative visitors, gaining attention as a success story that overcame the limitations of its location on the outskirts of the city. Arirang Dowon is a core project of Stayday 1, incorporating design elements that reinterpret regional characteristics in a modern way throughout the space.
Stayday One designed Arirangdowon not as a simple bakery café, but as a space centered on "experience design." By integrating the bakery, food, and beverage offerings into a single, seamless experience, visitors are encouraged to naturally enjoy the entire space, moving beyond the typical experience of simply consuming a specific menu item and leaving.
The design focuses on metaphorically evoking Korean sentiments rather than directly expressing them. Centered around a sculpture reinterpreting the Ilwolobongdo (Ilwo Obongdo) in a modern way, the design incorporates landscape elements utilizing water and light to embody a refined Korean aesthetic.
The spatial layout and operational approach were meticulously coordinated to achieve a "long-term stay." By establishing an all-day dining format encompassing brunch, bakery, and beverages, the restaurant simultaneously drove customer inflow and sales growth, even in its outskirts. This operating model has garnered industry attention, leading to inquiries about franchise expansion.
Stayday One CEO Kim Geon-hyung said, “In order to complete the brand experience, we are prioritizing establishing operational standards while adhering to the principle of direct operation over short-term expansion,” and “We plan to introduce a new space model in new projects based on the know-how we have accumulated at Arirangdowon.”
Meanwhile, Stay Day One is a collaborative team of experts with global field experience in all areas of food culture, including Korean cuisine, bakery, coffee, and dining. Chefs who have spread Korean cuisine in Europe, F&B professionals, and space and brand planners are developing projects under a single vision.
