[Daily Korea Reporter Min Byeong-mu] F&B content company Stay Day One announced on the 9th that it is actively pursuing a 'platform-type food company' model amid the K-food industry's shift from a restaurant-centered competition to a manufacturing, data, and distribution-centered structure.
The core of the company is Stayday One Works, a HACCP-certified manufacturing subsidiary. With a structure that seamlessly integrates product planning, testing, and mass production in-house, it rapidly commercializes local agricultural and food ingredients and expands them into food IP that can be repeatedly distributed. This approach differs from the traditional food industry, which relies on outsourcing.
This manufacturing infrastructure is combined with real-world consumer data. Stayday One has accumulated real-world data, including visitor numbers, length of stay, purchase patterns, and repeat visitor rates, through its directly managed brands, Arirangdowon and Ppippat, and has incorporated this data into its product mix and manufacturing planning. Despite its location outside the city center, Arirangdowon recorded one million cumulative visitors within just one year and six months of opening, confirming the potential of a stay-based consumption structure.
This approach is also expanding into regional collaborations. Stayday One collaborated with Yongin City to plan and manufacture products utilizing Yongin Baekok rice, a local specialty, and created a system where local agricultural products are distributed as food products that can be sold repeatedly, not just for one-time consumption. Furthermore, Stayday One provided food and product structure consulting to the Paju Market area in Paju City and the tea industry in Hadong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, redesigning products based on visitor traffic, consumption timing, price range, and distribution potential.
This approach goes beyond simple branding and is considered an Agricultural Technology (AT) approach that integrates manufacturing infrastructure and data-driven decision-making into the agricultural and food industry. Beyond individual project outcomes, the project aims to leverage accumulated data and manufacturing experience to drive future regional and product development, highlighting its potential for expansion.
A Stay Day One representative said, “The local food industry can only be sustained if it is approached structurally, not just in terms of sense,” and added, “We are creating a model where local resources lead to actual sales and distribution based on manufacturing infrastructure and real-world data.”
As K-food's global expansion accelerates, Stayday One plans to present a new growth model for the Korean food industry by integrating manufacturing, data, and branding into a single system.
